Before I launch in what is sure to be a stunning review of this evening, I'd like to get it out there that I don't think Valentine's Day is a real holiday, not for the masses at least. For Catholics maybe, but I'm not Catholic so to be quite honest I have no idea who St. Valentine was. I think the hype over V-Day is just a ploy by the candy, flower, jewelry, and greeting card companies to make some cash after the Holiday season. But I digress
I had a great time tonight. After primping most of the day, I left the house around 3, and got to JC by 3:30 or so. Since I was early and I knew what nightmare getting seated would be, I went ahead and put us on the wait list. They said the wait was an hour and a half. So Ryan and I were seated around 4:45 or so. After we ordered and had gotten our soup and salad, his grandparents and aunt and uncle walked in and were seated at the table behind us. That would've been fine, had I any clue who they were, why Ryan was getting up to talk to these people, or that he was gonna introduce me to them. But sadly I didn't. When he introduced me, I was trying to get a lemon seed that had come up my straw into my throat outta my mouth, great first impression. So, I'm sure they think I'm super awkward and antisocial...I hope they liked me. Anyway, dinner was amazing and Ryan insisted on each of us ordering our own dessert. I had tirimisu for the first time, that was awesome. Then he paid for dinner and tipped the waitress quite nicely. We went to my car and exchanged gifts. I think he really liked his :-) After that we headed to Old Navy bc I was wearing spike heels and couldn't take them anymore. Ryan insisted on buying my flipflops :-) We drove around for a couple of minutes, and then I headed to books a million (bc we're nerds and we love it). While we were at books a million I mentioned that I had seen an ad for an Agatha Christie play at JCCT and it made me think of him bc I knew he liked Agatha Christie. We ended up going, and it was pretty decent. By the time we got back to the parking lot where his car was it was 11. Great, great night. Wonderful date :-) ok it's off to bed for me
