The Middle

I don't know if I've mentioned or not, but when the kids picked their songs for the song part of the character analysis project, I picked one too. I picked The Middle by Jimmy Eat World. It inspires me to just hold on and wait it out in those tough times.

Anyway, I was thinking about that song and really deeply analyzing why I picked it. THere have been so many times in my life that I really have been in the middle of something and it's seemed more like it was engulfing me than me having a chance to get through it. Right now though, I'm not really in the middle of anything, which kinda makes for dull writing. You'd think that I'd be glad to not be in the middle of somehting, but I'm not. As trying as they are, I love those times because they teach me something. I feel like I'm just marking time right now rather than moving forward.

The Middle-Jimmy Eat World
Hey,Don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out,
Or looked down on.
Just try your best,
Try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves
When you're away.

[Chorus]
It just takes some time,
Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything, everything will be just fine,
Everything, everything will be alright. (alright)

Hey,You know they're all the same.
You know you're doing better on your own, (on your own)
So don't buy in.
Live right now.
Yeah, just be yourself.
It doesn't matter if it's good enough (good enough)
For someone else.
[Chorus x2]

Hey, don't write yourself off yet.
It's only in your head you feel left out, (feel left out)
Or looked down on.
Just do your best, (just do your best)
Do everything you can. (do everything you can)
And don't you worry what their bitter hearts (bitter hearts)
Are gonna say.
[Chorus x2]

After reading over the lyrics, maybe this spinning my wheels feeling is due to being in the middle...I'll get through this, adn I'll learn something from it. See the song just makes me more positive and optimistic
