Warning this post is probably TMI
Viral Gastroenteritis-more commonly referred to as the stomach flu, though it doesn't actually affect the stomach and has no link to influenza. Regardless, it's possibly one of the most horrible experiences of my life. I woke up at a little after midnight last night, ran to the bathroom and watched the contents of my stomach erupt from every possible orifice on my body. In doing so, I managed to wake my parents up and they immediately started on clean up, grabbing rags from the basement, emptying the trashcan and putting a bag in it so I could have somewhere besides the floor to vomit in. I've never been so miserable. I puked on my new pjs and had to throw them away along with one of my fave shirts. I also puked in my hair so I had to take a shower and wash my hair when I didn't think I had enough energy to stand up. Mom mopped the floor while I washed my hair and dad took out the trash. Then I woke up an hour later and had a repeat, but since I was prepped with the trash can, etc there wasn't a mess to clean up. That continued through the night. I woke up this morning to discover that we hadn't done as thorough of a job cleaning as I had originally thought. There was spatter still under the sink, on the door, and on the wall. I need to go clean it up, but I haven't left my bed to do anything but use the bathroom, and even that required great effort. I have class today at 4 and we can't miss without a doctor's note. I don't wanna go to the doctor just to have him tell me what I already know. Right now I'm most concerned with the fact that I haven't even been able to keep down the 1/2 bottle of water I've been drinking since 1am. I'm getting really dehydrated, and my mom's at work adn my dad has a test in his class at noon so I'm gonna be left all alone in an hour. I need some pedialyte but I know my dad needs to study for his test and he's already done so much to clean up after me last night. So maybe I'll try to venture out to Walgreens. Oy

pedialyte popsicles. have your parents bring you some home - they're in the baby section with the pedialyte. they're way easier to stomach when you're feeling so bad.
