Observations

I was really bothered during my observations by the way my teacher treated one of the students. I gave them all an assignment to choose a song that would be their theme song. One of the girls compiled the songs and we were listening to them all in class. Most of the kids didn't take it seriously and just picked songs because they liked them. One kid who rarely ever participates in class actually did the assignment and put thought into it. In fact he picked a song that deeply personal to him, and was bubbling in anticipation waiting to tell the class what it meant to him. But as soon as the song was over, the teacher said thank god that noise is over, and the kid's face just fell. I was so upset. I had finally found something that got through this kid's shell, and really reached him; then she had to ruin it all
